Editor, writer, photographer
What I do
I review cameras from beginner point and shot models right up to professional DSLR, mirrorless and medium format cameras
I use a wide variety of camera systems to test fisheye lenses, wideangles, perspective control, ‘art’ lenses and any other type
I write about camera bags and backpacks, through tripods, monopods, filter systems, lighting systems and more.
I am experienced in editing print magazines and websites and I’m currently Group Reviews Editor for Digital Camera World.
Photography is the reason I got into journalism. I take pictures for tutorials and features, equipment reviews and personal projects.
I specialise in photo-editing, both in Photoshop and Lightroom and in other ‘alternative’ editors and plug-ins, via reviews and tutorials.
I’m an independent freelance photography writer and editor with 30 years experience working for the UK’s largest specialist publishers, both online and in print. I cover all aspects of photography including cameras, shooting techniques, lenses and accessories, and for everyone from smartphone users through enthusiasts to professional photographers. As well as full time freelancing I have worked as Head of Testing for Future plc’s photography magazines, camera channel editor on TechRadar, Editor and Technique Editor on N-Photo. I write for TechRadar, Digital Camera World, Digital Camera, PhotoPlus, N-Photo and many other photography and technology publications.
